Woodstream Church
Matthew 13:1-3, 10-11, 36-43

Even the best professional golfers sometimes hit a tee shot that causes the ball to veer off into the tall grass and weeds.  Their reaction is typically shock and disbelief.  We have similar reactions to the news reports of horrific scandals of clergy misconduct.  Those inside and outside of the Church are shocked by the considerable weeds that have grown throughout Christendom.  But to prepare us, Christ warned us in cryptic language, or parables, of these stumbling blocks, or weeds in the Kingdom of God.

When The Righteous Leave The Church They Are Complicit In Satan’s Objective.Leaving the Church is not the way to escape evil; only death provides that escape.  Christ’s job is to judge all matters; ours is to persevere.  The weeds (servants of Satan) in the Kingdom of God will be cast into the Pit of Hell, the fiery furnace prepared as the punishment for the worst offenders.

God Will Judge His Church; It’s Our Job To Judge Ourselves
. So many are in danger of renouncing their spiritual citizenship through inactivity, apathy and abandonment.  They are known not for what they do, but what they don’t do:  attend church, give, serve or love their brothers and sisters in Christ.  A major crime against the Church and Kingdom of God is apathy.  Those offenders don’t care – they are lost in the weeds.
