A Heart Of Service

A Heart Of Service

A Heart of Service

1 Chronicles 28:1-3, 29:23-25

In the Bible, David had the distinction of being a man after God’s own heart.  He was passionate about God’s heart, seeking to know and please God.  Each of the Psalms he wrote in the Bible were from the heart.  He put his life on the line time and again to defend the Glory of God.

You Must Establish A Hierarchy Of Heart Intentions. When children are young, we ask them, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”  This is usually followed up with “Why?”  We usually fail to ask “For whom?”  We must start with ‘whom’ first to put our calling in proper perspective.  A heart of service must begin with a heart for God.  A divine work requires divine determination, appropriately established by an ordering, a hierarchy of intentions.  The earthly Church is modeled after the Kingdom of God, composed of members submissive to a hierarchy of authorities committed to God’s service.
