Merry Mystery

Merry Mystery

Many people love hymns, but few know that the hymns written about 200 years ago were originally bar room tunes adapted with Christian lyrics. That generated controversy at the time because many objected to the music from saloons being sung in church. But controversy is nothing new to the Church, and God’s conversion of “pub music” into hymns illustrates how He can transform selfish, sinful men into loving, giving saints. Paul instructed Timothy to not only use logic and rational thinking to guide the path through life, but to also recognize the mysteries of the faith revealed to us by the Spirit.

God Wants Us To Have Faith In The Mysteries Of The Faith. The Apostolic Teachings regarding Christ form the Mysteries of the Faith, which are: the Virgin Birth, Incarnation, Divinity, Deity, Messiahship, Lordship and Savior. Christ was born of a woman so that we may be born of the Spirit. He died for our sins; therefore we are to die to sin. When we have faith in the Mysteries of the Faith, we will then pursue the Mystery of Godliness. Too many indulge in adulterous relationships, dabble in false religions, and treat the Church as a ‘convenience store’, showing up when it is convenient to them to satisfy their carnal desires. Unfortunately, some churches cater to this apostasy, with worship services becoming mere success seminars.

When Your Life Is Full Of The Mystery Of Godliness God Will Bear Witness. In the narrative of Christ’s birth, we are introduced to Anna, Simeon, Elizabeth, the baby John the Baptist, Joseph and Mary. God placed the Christ Child into the hands of humble, holy people whose testimonies and consistent service were strong witness to God’s saving grace.

When The Mystery Of The Faith Is Presented By Those Given Over To The Mystery Of Godliness The World Will Be Changed. Jesus and His ministry shook Jerusalem. Later, His Apostles shook the world. We are to continue their start by living out the Mystery of Godliness. When the message and messenger are right, the world has to listen.
