Luke 8:26-39
Demonic influences dominate our culture through entertainment and social media. Nearly three quarters of teenagers have engaged in some form of psychic or witchcraft-related activity. That is fertile ground to entrap them through spiritual attacks from demons. Some of the tactics demons use to attack us are:
Oppression.
Demons want to harass us with recurring fears, despair, anxiety, sleeplessness and malicious people. These problems seem to appear in our lives inexplicably to challenge our Christian life and work for God.
Obsession.
The demonic attackers use obsession with lewdness, pornography, violence and pain to block God’s message and leading. People, and especially children, can become obsessed with violent video games, occult practices and sociopathic thoughts through social media and entertainment. These obsessions not only distract individuals from doing their work or study but cause them to be hostile to Christian doctrine.
Infestation.
Homes, buildings, properties, clothing, charms and anything used in occult practices and idolatry can become infested with demonic influence to cause harm to innocents. We should be careful when we purchase property to investigate its history, so we will not be ignorant of potential sources of attack.
Possession.
Demonic possession is when evil spirits enter into a person’s body, and as described in Luke can make someone crazed, endowed with unnatural strength. It is very difficult to evict the demons, but it can be done over time by those who are prepared and have been given authority by Christ, who has the ultimate authority over heaven and earth.
