Proverbs 22:6, Philippians 4:8

Again, it is the season for children and young adults to return to school.  While the students may be out of sight of the parents, they are never out of God’s sight.  Godly wisdom will guide and guard the child, and crown the child with livelong success.  School can supply the child with knowledge, but only God can supply the child with wisdom.  God made fathers responsible for their family’s welfare and development.  Solomon is charging fathers not only to guide their children for academic achievement, but also to develop moral and spiritual values.

1. To Educate/Train Up Is A Sacred Bond-Trust.

Fathers are given the sacred responsibility for training their children in morality and knowledge to gain the wisdom from God.  As the lead educator, they are responsible for assuring that their children are literate, Godly and wise.  They can delegate some of the tasks to others, but are accountable for the result.

2. Christian Children Are Dedicated With The Intention To Lead.

God called His people to be the head, not the tail.  Just as the nations sought Solomon’s, Daniel’s and Joseph’s wisdom, so the world ought to seek knowledge from the Body of Christ, the Church.

3. What We Dedicate To God Satan Wants To Scandalize.

Adam and Eve were targeted by Satan from the beginning, and Satan has continued the attack since.  Christians are increasingly being ridiculed and held in open contempt in a society ruled by Satan.  Students are being indoctrinated through academia, entertainment and social media with concepts and alternative morals contrary to what God has ordained.
