Woodstream’s Academic Enrichment Ministry Featuring Career Direct and SAT Tutorial II
Career Direct is a computerized program which enables a student to discover God-given talents and spiritual gifts. It also gives the students an idea of a possible major for which to apply when they go to college. Contact: Lawrence Williams.
Heart-to-Heart Homeschool Support Group
The purpose of Heart-to-Heart is to foster an atmosphere where Woodstream homeschool families can be encouraged through discussion, fellowship, and prayer. Deut. 6:7 “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shall talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.” Contacts: Deacon Al Jones and Patricia Jones.
Scholarships
The Scholarship Committee assists students who are pursuing a college education by providing financial assistance, information resources, mentoring, encouragement and testing to determine what each student’s bent may be. Contact: Deacon LeRoy Allen. Click here for scholarship forms.
School of Evangelism (SOE1)
To teach Christians how to effectively and easily witness to believers’ friends, family and acquaintances, aka FRANgelism (evangelism to Friends, Relatives, and Neighbors). Contact: Minister Don Simmons.
School of Evangelism II (prerequisites SOE1 or the equivalent)
To polish your individual evangelist style; learn how to build relationships with non-believers so that you may communicate your faith; learn how to address common questions or objections; practice your skills in a safe environment. Contact: Minister Don Simmons.
Sunday School
The Sunday School Board administers the education program of the Sunday School Department. Contact: Minister Reginald Slade.
Men’s Institute
To teach Biblical topics/series to maturing men. Contact: Pastor Bob.
Millennium Makers
To discipline and motivate believers to radically impact their sphere of influence for Christ, properly equipping each dedicated saint to give a firm apologetic in a culturally diverse world. (Ages 20-35 years old.) Contact: Sean Brantley.
Refocus (Marriage Enhancement)
To affirm and promote growth in marriages, to give direction, and to help the ordinary couples struggling with the daily question of marriage. This group meets on Sunday mornings during Sunday School. Contact: Joe and Gladys Richardson.
Women’s Institute
To teach Biblical topics/series to maturing women in our church. Contacts: Valerie Calhoun or Pamela Shaw.
Vibrant Life
Meets after the morning service. Pastor Bob’s sermons are used as study material for these teaching sessions for women. Contacts: Ruth Parker and Margaret Joseph.
